Setbacks Are Often Setups For Something Greater

How often have you allowed your setbacks to paralyze you from moving forward?

How many times have you felt powerless from the crap life tends to throw at you?

I was tested over the last week with a very severe leg injury. I had damaged my ligaments, tendons and muscles in the inner hip and pelvis reason so badly that I was mobilized with a kind of pain that felt like being electrocuted with every breathe I took and every move I made!

I couldn't sleep for 5 days as no position would settle it down or give me comfort.

I couldn't do any amount of work as focus and concentration was impossible. Getting out to meet clients just wasn't going to happen.

I got all up in my stuff about the "What ifs" as I waited to get the x-rays and treatment.

So this situation forced me to explore the areas of my life I have not focused on in a while. I got back to my inner journey. I explored my mind and my thought processes.

I got very present to my life and what was happening to me.

I ended up getting some very powerful "Ahas", insights and awarenesses that I would not have allowed myself to get if I had not have been torn down past my ego and got real with my life.

I was meant to slow down in every way. I was meant to go into gratitude for where I was at and where it is I am going.

If you are in that place of uncertainty, scared and are perplexed as to why you are going through the struggle you are going through, try to see the bigger picture.

It's a simple process but it's not an easy one I assure you. Your ego will fight for your limitations and you'll try to project your dramas and stories on to an external source.

However, if you manage to take charge and show your ego who's boss, you can get to a place of true understanding. Stop for a moment and drop the excuses and rationalizations, and ask yourself these questions:

  1. What do I need to learn about myself during this time?

  2. What can I do to change my perspective about this?

  3. What's good about this situation?

Really ponder them at a soul level. Keep asking yourself until you allow yourself the gift of getting past your ego and rational mind.

Your ego will most likely fight you on each one of these questions and you'll most likely quit on yourself through the process if this is new to you.

To your rational mind this makes no sense. You tend to want to blame others or an external source for your suffering and pain.

Do this process in meditation and you'll find that in doing so you'll find the answers.

These answers will prove to you that every setback is a setup for you to learn more about yourself than at any other time in your life.

The key is to learn from them and move on! Once you learn from them and understand why it's happening, the healing tends to be much more rapid. Your emotional charge gets defused and your inner mastery comes into wholeness.

See the gift your setback is trying to give you.

The gift is there if you choose to look for it.

In every part of your life you are being setup for greatness. It's just up to us to open up our minds, our hearts and our awareness to be able to see it.

Remember: You are not alone on the journey...I've got your back!

Oh and I am on the mend! After seeing the X-rays there's no bone issues! I should be fully recovered in 2 weeks! :)

Have the best day!
